LetterstothePresident

This LetterstothePresident Blog chronicles one Republican exercising his precious freedom and responsibility to communicate his concerns, suggestions, gripes and compliments in a monthly letter to the President of the United States!

Caring Enough to Write Your President

Since 1990, I have taken the opportunity to exercise my citizenship and write a letter to the President of the United States every month. I have written both Democratic and Republican Presidents during that time. I have tried to tell the truth about my concerns, my views, my suggestions and my hopes for the future of this great country.

I have been both positive and critical to both Presidents. In fact, I was so positive to President Bill Clinton in a couple of letters that the Democratic Party sent me a letter asking for a donation. Let me assure you that I was not that positive!

I hope the model provided you in this blog encourages you to begin writing your own letters. This is America, and our President deserves to know what you think whether you voted for him or not! I hope you enjoy this one Republican's letters.

At times, you will read of a column that I sent to President Bush. I write two columns a month for the Scripps-Howard Newspaper, the Ventura County Star. You can read most of the columns that I have written at http://www.thedinnerbook.com/articles_td.html on my website dedicated to my book, The Dinner: The Political Conversation Your Mother Told You Never to Have. This website also has a free automated assessment to help you determine whether you are a Democrat or Republican as it relates to 20 key issues facing our country.

Thanks for reading my letters, columns and this blog.
